You can all thank me later.
I'd shake your hand, but I still have the ticket collector at the starport targeted.
The initial sentence is as entertaining as it is (accidentally?) informing... and interests are piqued, truth be told.
...But, like one of the comments hints at, Ol' Tutone is having trouble getting past the words "browser based"...
This is not an early indictment of an unseen product...This is just Tutone's TuCents.

...(sounds of a screeching halt)... Browser based? Missed that in the excitement...
I'm pretty impressed with what FreeRealms has done, so BSGO might not be so bad... for a "browser based game" FreeRealms has about a gig worth of stuff stuff tucked away in my profile, including quite a few dll's so the real heart of the rendering engine may be anything but "browser based" itself.
I gotta be honest, the way SOE and the like are using the phrase "browser based" is so incorrect. The browser is nothing more than a launchpad for these games. FreeRealms could be launched from "Station Launcher" but they wanted it to be "browser based". I like not having a launchpad for FR, but that is all it is, a launcher.
If they want to use that phrase I expect the game to be running under the IE or Firefox process on my system. That is browser based. :-)
hmm alphabet soup SOE,SWG,LOTR,HKO AND NOW BSG. whats next ? mmos are becoming like ikea furnituer put a skin on it and put it in a box and sell it!

... Battlestar Galactica. In a game.
Do you realize this sci fi franchise could be in so many other games than just a browser based MMO? If they wanted to, NBC could make it as popular as Halo! The ships are perfect for an RTS, the dark hallways of a Cylon Basestar could make a pretty interesting FPS experience, and if they added a few new land vehicles like tanks, then you got yourself BSG Battlefront! For now though, lets thank the Lords of Kobol that this is actually in the works. So say we all...
They better not back off on this game otherwise BSG fans will be frakkin pissed. I hope they do not make the same mistake TFU 2 is making by not releasing any info for months. However, the article said they'd be at GDC so we'll probably see both games there.

Only a Star Wars fan would confuse Anchorage with Anchorhead.
As R. Lee Ermey would say: OOH RAA!
Looks interesting, but it could be a lot of things. Maybe a big Star Trek Online game, or maybe just a small $5 a month game. I must wonder, do I get to play with others. or just random surviving Battlestar #55 (though it would be cool to fly one.
So say we all!

...Well, there have been some attempts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battlestar_Galactica_%28video_game%29
Hopefully it's a little better than Dark Orbit... Given the other Bigpoint other browser based games, I'm not too excited.
Maybe I need to fire up Beyond the Red Line.
